Edgar and Miner is a locally owned and operated floor covering store in Victoria BC. The store was opened in 1970 by original owners Dave Edgar and Jim Miner, who sold the company to two employees, Jos de Bruin and Wayne Carson. Jos and Wayne owned the company for over 20 years before deciding to sell to long time employees Jim and Tom McClymont.
The store initially started out dealing in mostly residential, but expanded over the years to included commercial projects. Today, we work side by side with contractors, interior designers, government agencies as well as the general public.
Tom McClymont
OwnerI have been in the floor covering business since 1979 starting out as a journeyman helper. I spent the next 5 years installing all types of flooring and then was offered a sales position by the original owners Dave Edgar and Jim Miner. This suited me very well and I spent the next 21 years in sales prior to purchasing the company with my brother Jim in 2005. I have enjoyed the journey thus far and look forward to many great years in this great business.
Jim McClymont
OwnerI have been in the floor covering industry since 1984. I started out as a floor layers apprentice then worked my way up to sales in 1989. I have remained in sales ever since until 2005 when my brother Tom and I purchased Edgar and Miner. I have found it to be a very satisfying business and I am looking forward to the challenges in my new found position.

I was born and raised in Victoria and lived and worked in Vancouver for 10 years and Dallas Texas for 8 years. I specialize in large residential subdivisions and property management. Sales AssociateI have been in the flooring industry since 2006. I started out as the warehouse manager and got the opportunity to meet the many great installers who offered me a position which I took. I spent the next two years learning the business from an installer’s perspective and enjoyed it very much. I was given the opportunity to rejoin Edgar and Miner as a sales associate in 2008 and have enjoyed assisting customers with all their flooring needs and look forward to your business.

This has given me the opportunity to work in other fields as I am not ready to retire and love to problem solve. I recently joined my brothers company and enjoy my position which involves warehouse duties, deliveries, installing subfloors, repairing thresholds, cutting doors and so on.
